Life can become extremely difficult;
things may seem overwhelming and out of control following a recent event or trauma, possibly something from your past
has returned to worry you; or you realise that you need to finally tackle something you have been suffering with for a long time;
perhaps you need to make an important decision and can’t think how to do so; maybe you are plagued with anxiety or unhappy but with no clear idea as to why.
Talking to someone and being fully listened to, without being judged, can be the start of a process of developing strategies and solutions and coming to terms with difficult and traumatic experiences.
The setting provides a calm and safe place to speak in confidence about things which might never have been spoken of before. Working psychoanalytically involves paying particular attention to the words spoken and can reveal the unconscious processes which drive us.
